The variety is the result of a breeding program in the Alsace region. It belongs to the group of aromatic varieties and is used for late hopping, dry hopping, and first wort hopping. Genetically, it combines the characteristics of the mother variety Strisselspalt with resistance to downy mildew, inherited from the father variety Yeoman.

The biochemical composition is characterized by an alpha-acid content in the range of 2.8–9.0% and an essential oil content of 1.5–2.0 ml/100 g, with myrcene, humulene, and caryophyllene predominating. The aromatic profile includes notes of jasmine, geranium, lily, rose, peach, apricot, lychee, melon, strawberry, as well as caramel, honey, and spicy herbs.

The variety is recommended for use in beer styles such as Belgian ales, pale ales, Kölsch, lagers, and wheat beer.
