The variety has a pedigree including the Zeus variety and experimental lines. The plant is characterized by good resistance to diseases, including powdery mildew and downy mildew. Hop cones are small to medium in size and are noted for their density.

The alpha-acid content ranges from 15 to 19%, beta-acids — 5.5–8%. The cohumulone fraction is 24–28%, and oil content is in the range of 1.5–2.5 ml/100 g. The variety possesses good storage stability.

When used for late or dry hopping, the variety exhibits aromas of citrus, pine, resin, as well as woody and spicy notes. In the professional community, the variety is also known by the code designation 1051.
