The variety is a hybrid of the Brewer's Gold variety and a Yugoslavian wild male plant. It belongs to the group of "Super Styrian" varieties created to combine Fuggle-type characteristics with an increased alpha acid content.
The plant has moderate resistance to downy mildew and good growth vigor. The quality of the produce is characterized by a beta acid content of 4% and a total oil content of 1.3 to 1.6 ml per 100 g.
The aromatic profile of the variety includes floral, spicy, and herbal notes. Although the variety was initially intended as a bittering hop, it is classified as a dual-purpose hop suitable for both bitterness and aroma in beer.
