Variety description

The variety was obtained by crossing the Challenger and Northdown varieties. The plant is characterized by vigorous growth and forms small to medium-sized cones with a dense structure. The yield is 1300–1900 kg/ha.

The variety is resistant to downy mildew but susceptible to powdery mildew. Resistance to Verticillium wilt is assessed as insufficient for areas with a high prevalence of the disease.

The biochemical composition is characterized by an alpha-acid content of 13–16.2%, beta-acid content of 4.8–6.1%, and an oil content of 1–1.7 ml/100 g. It is suitable for use in ESB, Pale Ale, and various types of IPA styles for primary bitterness or dry hopping.
