Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety is used exclusively as a rootstock for peach and certain other stone fruit crops. It possesses a growth-restricting effect, reducing the size of standard peach clones by 10–15%, and promotes precocity—an earlier entry of grafted trees into the fruiting phase.

The rootstock is distinguished by high frost resistance during the deep dormancy period; however, its reliability decreases in regions with unstable winters due to the risk of premature exit from dormancy during thaws. A significant disadvantage is susceptibility to root-knot nematodes, which limits use on infested soils.

The plant itself produces small fruits with white flesh that have no commercial value and are suitable only for processing. In scientific literature, SIBERIAN - C is classified specifically as a peach rootstock and is not a hybrid of Prunus davidiana and Prunus persica.
