Variety description

10 August 2026

SAN JULIAN A (sometimes referred to as St. Julian A) is a vegetatively propagated clonal rootstock belonging to the species Prunus insititia. It is widely used in horticulture for grafting crops such as plums, peaches, nectarines, and apricots.

This rootstock is of the semi-dwarf type, allowing trees to reach 70–80% of the size of standard trees on vigorous rootstocks. It possesses good adaptation to heavy and waterlogged soils, although plant death is possible during prolonged flooding.

The use of the variety is aimed exclusively at controlling the growth vigor of the scion and its adaptation to soil conditions. Characteristics of fruits, product quality, and maturity group are not applicable to this object.
