Variety description

The variety is a natural find discovered in Illinois. The plant forms a dense upright mound 1.2–1.5 m in height. The main feature is the deeply cut leaves with uneven lobes, creating a lacy effect. In literature, the variety is found under the synonyms Riven Lace and Emerald Lace.

Flowers are gathered in lacecap-type corymbose inflorescences with a diameter of 15–20 cm. Flowering occurs from June to September on current-year shoots. To stimulate growth and canopy formation, pruning to ground level in late winter is recommended.

The variety possesses winter hardiness in USDA zones 4–9, requires regular watering, and is sensitive to drought. It is used in landscape design to create textural accents in group and border plantings; inflorescences are suitable for cutting and drying.
