Variety description

The variety is a shrub 1.0–1.5 m in height and about 1 m in width. Flowering continues from June to September-October; inflorescences are flat, corymbose. Marginal sterile flowers are pale blue or pink depending on soil pH; internal fertile flowers are of a darker shade.

Foliage is green, turning reddish or copper-brown in autumn. The plant is characterized by high winter hardiness down to -20°C...-25°C, drought tolerance, and the ability to withstand late spring frosts better than Hydrangea macrophylla.
