The name Albo-Variegatis was historically used in 19th-century botanical literature to denote hydrangea variations with variegated leaves. In modern breeding, it is not a unique variety but is used as a collective name for various forms with white spots or margins on the foliage.

Plants of this type are shrubs with a height of 80 cm to 2 m with large ovate leaves. The inflorescences are most often flat corymbose, but globular ones also occur, the color of which depends on the soil acidity. The crop is thermophilic, requires winter cover and regular watering, and is used in ornamental gardening.
