The variety 'Amazone' ('Hokomazone') is a shrub about 90 cm tall. The plant forms dense inflorescences of cup-shaped pink flowers with green tips. In acidic soils, the color of the flowers may change to blue.

The plant has the ability to form flower buds and bloom on both previous year's shoots and current season's shoots.
