Variety description

The plant is a rounded shrub 1.0 to 1.5 m in height with glossy dark green leaves of oval or elliptical shape. Inflorescences are dense, globular, about 10 cm in diameter, consisting of flowers with rounded overlapping sepals.

Petal color varies from purple-red to crimson or deep pink; on acidic soils, bluish shades may appear. The flowering period lasts from July to October. The shrub has winter hardiness down to -25 °C, however, it requires bud protection in severe winters.

The variety is suitable for single and group plantings, creating hedges and borders, as well as for cultivation in containers. The plant may be affected by pathogens common to the species, including powdery mildew, gray mold, spider mites, and scale insects.
