A deciduous shrub with a rounded crown 90–120 cm in height and width. It has bright green, elliptical foliage with serrated edges. In acidic soils, the large spherical inflorescences acquire a pale blue hue, while in neutral and alkaline soils, they are pink or pinkish-lilac.

Flowering lasts from June to September. The variety belongs to USDA hardiness zone 5, although in regions with harsh winters, flower buds on old wood may be damaged. During heavy precipitation or wind, the shoots may lean toward the ground under the weight of the large inflorescences.

Used in landscape design for solitary and group plantings, borders, and container cultivation. The inflorescences are suitable for cutting. The plant requires monitoring for species-typical pests and diseases, such as aphids, spider mites, powdery mildew, and leaf spots.
