The shrub reaches a height of up to 1.5 meters and a width of up to 1.3 meters. The inflorescences have a flat spherical or corymbose shape. A distinctive morphological feature of the variety is the clearly serrated, dentate edges of the sepals.

The plant blooms from July to August; repeat flowering is sometimes possible at the end of summer. The variety prefers partial shade and filtered sunlight. In European climatic conditions, the variety has good winter hardiness, but requires protection in regions with cold winters.
