Variety description

The shrub is compact, spherical in shape, reaching a height of 0.6 to 1.5 m. The leaves are large, elliptical or obovate, serrated, dark green in color. Inflorescences are large, spherical, consisting of a large number of sterile flowers.

The color of the petals varies depending on soil pH: in acidic soil, the inflorescences acquire violet-blue tones, while in neutral or alkaline soil, they are pink or purple-pink. Flowering continues from July to September.

The plant prefers partial shade and moist, well-drained soils. It belongs to USDA hardiness zones 6–9; in regions with harsh winters, it requires covering to protect flower buds from freezing.
