The variety «Domotoi», also known as «Setsuka-Yae», is a shrub 0.9–1.5 m in height with a rounded crown shape. The plant's leaves are large, dark green, and have a characteristic glossy sheen.

Inflorescences are spherical and consist of double sterile flowers. The color of the inflorescences varies from pale pink to blue or lilac-violet depending on the soil acidity level. The variety is characterized by vigorous growth but may show irregular flowering.

The plant requires protection from direct sunlight and is suitable for growing in containers, group plantings, or as a specimen plant. Winter hardiness is limited to USDA zones 6–9; in more severe climatic conditions, shoots may suffer frost damage.
