The shrub has a spherical shape and reaches a height of 1.60–1.80 m. The plant is characterized by abundant flowering from July to October, forming large spherical inflorescences. The flower color varies from pink to deep red and depends on soil acidity.

The variety has winter hardiness down to -15 °C. The plant tolerates sunny locations well, although it is also suitable for cultivation in partial shade. In landscape design, it is used for garden decoration. One should consider the difference between this variety and the Maman Rouge variation, which has red flowers.
