The bush has a rounded crown and large dark green leaves 15–20 cm long. Mophead-type inflorescences reach 20–30 cm in diameter, individual flowers are 4 to 7.5 cm in size. The color varies from deep blue to reddish-purple and greenish-brown depending on growing conditions and the flowering phase.

The plant is intended for landscape design and use in cut flower arrangements. The variety prefers sunny locations or partial shade and is demanding regarding soil moisture. It is easy to prune and requires covering in regions with frosty winters.
