The variety serves as a parent form for breeding other varieties; in particular, it was used to identify a bud mutation from which the 'Dancing Angel' variety was derived. It is characterized by the absence of secondary coloration on the inner side of the sepals of sterile flowers.

The literature mentions it under the name Hydrangea × versicolor 'Pink Candy', which is characterized by the presence of scattered sterile flowers with enlarged pinkish sepals. Detailed agronomic characteristics of the variety are unavailable in open sources.
