The variety is a compact deciduous shrub with a height of 45–60 cm. The plant forms spherical inflorescences with deep pink flowers. The foliage has a dark green color and serrated edges.

Flowering occurs in the summer period on the previous year's shoots. The variety prefers moist, well-drained soils and locations protected from the scorching midday sun. Winter hardiness corresponds to USDA zones 5–9.

The plant is ideally suited for placement in tubs, containers, and in the foreground of borders due to its miniature size. The stability of the flower color depends weakly on soil pH, although in some cases a shift in shade toward purple is possible.
