The bush is compact, dense, erect or spreading, 1.0 to 1.5 m tall in open field and 0.4–0.6 m in containers. Leaves are large, ovate, serrated, rich bright green or dark green in color.

Inflorescences are globular, 20–30 cm in diameter. Flowers are cup-shaped, their color varies from dark pink or carmine-red on neutral and alkaline soils to violet-blue or blue on acidic ones.

Flowering lasts from July to September or October. Shoots are strong, erect. The variety has good disease resistance and winter hardiness down to -20...-25°C, while in temperate climates it requires covering of flower buds for the winter.

The plant is used for single and group plantings, creating borders, growing in containers, and is also suitable for cutting and drying inflorescences.
