The plant is an upright deciduous shrub 0.6–0.9 m tall with dark green broadly ovate leaves with a serrated edge. The stems are strong and hold the inflorescences well.

Flowering lasts from early summer until autumn. The inflorescences initially resemble the «lacecap» shape, gradually transforming into dense double inflorescences with broad petals. Flower color varies from pink in neutral and alkaline soils to blue in acidic ones.

The variety is used for border, solitary, and group plantings, as well as a container crop, and is suitable for cutting.
