Plenissima is a botanical form of the species Hydrangea involucrata, described in 1952. The name translates from Latin as "the most double," which reflects the morphological feature of the flower of this taxon.

The primary characteristic of the plant is its double sterile flowers, the inflorescences of which consist of a large number of petaloid sepals, resembling small roses. The plant is a deciduous shrub and does not exceed two meters in height. In gardening, this form is also known by the Japanese name Kokonoe-tama-ajisai.
