The plant has a compact shape and reaches a height of about 80 cm in 10 years, although in individual cases it can grow up to 1.5 m. The leaves are broad, elliptical, and possess the rough or bristly texture characteristic of the species.
Flowering occurs in the summer-autumn period from June to August, sometimes extending into September. The inflorescences are corymbose, consisting of sterile pale green and fertile lavender-violet flowers.
The variety is a winter-hardy plant suitable for use in single or group plantings. It tolerates conditions of partial shade and full shade well, while maintaining its decorative qualities.
