The variety belongs to the romaine lettuce group. The plant forms a dense, upright, elongated head, with a diameter ranging from 25 to 30 cm. The leaves are quite wide with a rounded margin and are dark green in color; inside the head, they are strongly concave and spoon-shaped.
The plant has a fast growth rate and vegetation period. Historically, the variety was used for cultivation under glass cloches or in cold frames. The seeds of the variety are white. The leaves are distinguished by their crunchy texture and strong midrib.
