Variety description

10 August 2026

The Opaline variety belongs to the fiber flax type and is a standard subject in international research and breeding trials. It is often used as a model specimen when studying the pathogen Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. lini, which causes Fusarium wilt of flax, and when analyzing soil properties.

During field studies, the variety demonstrated high resistance to lodging. At the same time, in a number of trials, the seed yield of this variety was assessed as lower compared to other fiber flax varieties.
