The variety represents the oilseed direction of use. It became the world's first winter oil flax variety. In scientific practice, Oliver often serves as a reference genotype when conducting comparative genetic research and breeding work.

The plant is characterized by an above-average yield. The variety's seeds have an oil content of about 44.5%, with a thousand kernel weight of about 7.70 g. Analysis of cell walls shows that the cellulose content in them is approximately 77%.
