The variety is an early-flowering breeding line selected from the Victorian ecotype. In terms of maturity, it is classified as mid-maturing, although earlier flowering times are noted in some cases.

The plant is a diploid variety. It is used in agricultural practice as a component of pastures and is considered in comparative analyses as a commercial option for dry matter production.
