ActiveLonicera L. · Honeysuckle
University of British Columbia
10 August 2026
The bush is vigorous, reaching 2 meters in height, and possesses strong, upright, reddish-brown shoots. The fruits have an elongated shape, are dark purple in color, and are covered with a dull glaucous bloom. The flavor of the berries is characterized as balanced and reminiscent of sweet cherry.
The variety is classified as late, although some descriptions contain information about early ripening. The plant possesses high winter hardiness, characteristic of Lonicera kamtschatica. The fruits contain antioxidants; however, their delicate skin complicates transportation and long-term storage.
