The variety was selected in eastern Bulgaria and is frequently used in scientific research as an object for evaluating productivity, the effect of fertilizers and herbicides on forage mass quality, as well as in experiments studying grass mixtures.
In comparative trials, the variety is characterized as one of the tallest, possessing longer stems compared to a number of other samples. The plant demonstrates adaptability to the mountainous conditions of Bulgaria.
The variety possesses good nutritional value indicators, including a high content of crude protein and calcium. Targovishte 1 is actively used as a standard in breeding and agrotechnical experiments.
The variety is listed in the national registry — its seeds are authorized for sale in this country.
