The Thanos HT variety was obtained through the selection of ecotypes from Portugal and the USA. The plant has an upright growth habit and demonstrates high initial growth vigor and early productivity.

A key feature of the variety is a high content of condensed tannins, which reduce the risk of rumen bloat in animals, promote better protein utilization, and have an antiparasitic effect.

The plant possesses high resistance, is adapted to acidic and waterlogged soils, and also tolerates drought periods. The variety is characterized by stand longevity and is suitable for use in pure stands, in grass mixtures, or in combination with alfalfa.
