The variety originates from the Finistère region, France. The tree is characterized by vigorous growth, a strong branch framework, and a dome-shaped crown prone to good aeration. The variety is considered productive and, with proper care, is only slightly prone to alternate bearing.

The fruits ripen in the mid-late period and are exclusively for industrial use. It is a bitter variety whose fruits are valued in cider making for their high tannin content, which gives the drink structure and ensures shelf life, as well as for good juice yield during pressing.
