Fruits of this variety are characterized by a yellowish ground color with a pronounced red blush on the sunny side. The fruit flesh has a yellowish-white tint, is distinguished by its firmness, tenderness, and a specific sweet-and-sour taste with a pineapple aroma. A distinctive feature is the ability of the flesh to acquire a pink hue directly under the skin.

Trees of this heirloom variety can reach significant sizes depending on the rootstock type. In modern conditions, dwarf or semi-dwarf rootstocks are often used to control plant size. The variety is traditionally classified as an autumn variety and is used as a dessert apple for fresh consumption.
