The rootstock is the result of breeding work crossing the red-leaved paradise apple B.9 with Bud. 13-14. Trees grafted onto this rootstock reach approximately 70–75% of the size of trees on standard seedling rootstocks, corresponding in vigor to MM.106.

The plant possesses good anchorage, which often allows for doing without additional support, and produces little root suckering. The rootstock is easily propagated by layering or hardwood cuttings, demonstrates moderate resistance to Phytophthora collar rot and fire blight, but can be susceptible to late winter frosts.
