Rootstock B 9 was obtained by crossing rootstock M-8 with the variety Krasnyy Standart. Trees on this rootstock reach 35–40% of the size of trees on seedling rootstock. Shoots are thick, dark chestnut in color; leaves are large, ovate, with a characteristic dark red-green shade and gloss.

Plants are characterized by high winter hardiness and the ability to enter fruiting early. The rootstock demonstrates resistance to collar rot, fire blight, and drought. Due to the characteristics of the root system, trees on rootstock B 9 require mandatory installation of support.
