The Bénédictin variety, also known as Reinette Normande, is a vigorous, upright tree that requires pollinator varieties. The fruits are large, yellow-orange in color with red stripes and slightly oily skin; they ripen by the winter period and are suitable for consumption from December to February.

The fruit flesh is firm, fine-grained, juicy, white or yellowish in color, and characterized by a sweet taste with slight acidity and a nutty aroma. The apples retain their shape well during thermal processing, which makes them suitable for use in culinary applications, particularly for baking.
