The medium-sized fruits have red skin with greenish-red stripes. The flesh is firm, becoming mealy over time. A distinctive feature is its high keeping quality: historically, it was noted that the apples remained suitable for consumption until Easter.

Currently, the variety is considered rare and is at risk of extinction. Trees are found as individual specimens and are not grown on an industrial scale. In the scientific community, the variety is studied within the framework of biodiversity conservation programs and the analysis of the nutraceutical composition of the fruit.
