Variety description

The variety is a bud mutation of the Caudle variety. The fruits have a caliber of 75–85 mm and are covered with an intense bright red striped color on 90% of the surface with noticeable white lenticels. The flesh is characterized by firmness, crisp texture, juiciness, and a balanced sugar-to-acid ratio.

The tree is characterized by medium to strong vigor and a tendency towards biennial bearing, requiring mandatory fruit thinning. The variety ripens four days before the Braeburn variety. During the flowering period, which occurs in the mid-season, it is recommended to use pollinators such as Gala, Golden Delicious, Granny Smith, or Malus Golden Gem.

The fruits possess high keeping quality, maintaining their quality until February in a standard refrigerator and until August under controlled atmosphere conditions. The tree is susceptible to scab, apple canker, and core flush during wet spring weather.
