Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety was discovered in 1987 in Washington state. It is presumed to be a natural hybrid of Red Delicious and Golden Delicious. The tree is characterized by medium to vigorous growth, and flowering occurs in the mid-season.

Fruits are medium-sized, elongated, with a bicolor skin ranging from greenish-yellow to orange-red. The flesh is white, juicy, with low acidity. Harvesting takes place in the mid-season, shortly before the Braeburn variety.

The variety is susceptible to scab, canker, and moldy core during wet weather at flowering. The tree is sensitive to spring frosts and is prone to biennial bearing in the absence of crop thinning. The harvest has high keeping quality and resistance to bruising.
