The variety has German roots and is mentioned in a number of sources as a mutation of the Harlamovski variety, also known as Borovinka or Kharlamovskoe. In modern horticulture, the variety is preserved as part of the genetic heritage.

By maturity group, it belongs to autumn apple trees. The fruits are used as table produce and possess pronounced taste qualities, including a pleasant aroma.
