The Charlamowski variety, also known as Borovinka or Duchess of Oldenburg, is an ancient variety discovered in Russia around 1770. The tree reaches a height of 2 to 4 meters depending on the rootstock and growing conditions.
The variety belongs to the summer apple group. The fruits are suitable for both fresh consumption and processing. Due to its status as an old breeding line, resistance to modern disease races, such as scab, may be limited and require preventive measures.
