The variety is a clonal mutant of Jonagold, derived from the cross of Golden Delicious and Jonathan. The tree has vigorous growth and belongs to type III. It is a triploid variety, therefore it is not suitable for use as a pollinator for other crops.

Fruits have a caliber of 70/90 and are covered with a dark red color over the entire surface. The flesh is fine, juicy, and crisp. Harvest times correspond to the Jonagold variety, approximately one week earlier than Golden Delicious. During storage, fruits retain quality until February, and in controlled atmosphere conditions — until June.

The plant is susceptible to powdery mildew and moderately resistant to scab. The variety is prone to alternate bearing under excessive load, however, it responds well to thinning. For pollination, diploid varieties with a similar flowering period are required, such as Gala, Elstar, Idared, or Granny Smith.
