Variety description

The tree is characterized by low vigor and an early flowering period, coinciding with the timing of the Gala variety. The variety is distinguished by early onset of bearing and high productivity, is weakly prone to biennial bearing, but requires fruit thinning. Harvesting takes place approximately 20–25 days after Golden Delicious.

Fruits are medium-sized, bicolour-type, with a red diffuse blush on a green background and possible slight russeting. The flesh is firm, juicy, with a sweet-sour taste. Fruits store well: until February in a regular refrigerator and until July under controlled atmosphere conditions.

The variety has genetic resistance to scab due to the Vf/Rvi6 gene, and possesses low susceptibility to powdery mildew and fire blight. The foliage may show sensitivity to excess sulfur. The variety is recommended for professional cultivation, including organic orchards.
