The variety was found in 2000 in the gardens of St. Cecilia's Abbey on the Isle of Wight. The tree is characterized by moderately vigorous growth; however, when using dwarfing rootstocks, it is suitable for keeping in containers or restricted spaces.

The fruits are medium-sized, conical in shape, bright red with pink speckles and yellow hues. The flesh is sweet, juicy, with a melon aroma and a light champagne aftertaste. The harvest is collected in October; the storage life of the fruits reaches 5 months.

The plant blooms profusely in spring with white and pale pink flowers, serving as a good pollinator for other apple trees (pollination group D / 3). The variety has some susceptibility to scab.
