The variety is a chance seedling discovered around 1850. The tree is distinguished by disease resistance and a favorable crown structure, making the variety suitable for traditional orchards with standard trees.

Harvest maturity of the fruits occurs in early to mid-September. Apples of this variety are used both for table purposes and for processing. Currently, the variety is used in breeding projects for the development of disease-resistant apple trees.
