The tree is noted for healthy and vigorous growth. One of the plant's distinctive external features is its characteristic reddish shoots, which allow the variety to be identified in the nursery.

The fruits are medium to large in size and have a flat-round shape. The skin is smooth, slightly waxy, and when ripe, it is yellow with red stripes or a raspberry blush on one side. The fruit's taste qualities are characterized as high.

The variety is undemanding and shows good results on heavy soils with underlying permeable yellow clay and sufficient moisture. When propagating, shield budding demonstrates a higher survival rate than scion grafting.

The apples are traditionally consumed fresh. Currently, the variety is also used for the production of premium ciders and is preserved as an object of genetic resources.
