The variety is a natural mutation (sport) of the base Fuji variety. The trees can be medium or vigorous, requiring regular pruning in commercial cultivation. The variety shows moderate resistance to scab and powdery mildew, as well as a susceptibility to skin russeting.

The fruits mature in late October. They possess a sweet taste and are capable of remaining fresh until May and longer. The variety is demanding of warm climatic conditions with a long summer to fully develop sugar content and color, and it also requires fruit thinning to prevent biennial bearing.
