The tree is characterized by vigorous growth and a spreading crown with drooping branches, reaching 3–5 meters in height. The fruits are large, round, sometimes slightly flattened, and covered with smooth waxy skin of a green color, which turns yellow upon ripening, sometimes with an orange blush.
The fruit flesh is firm, fine-grained, juicy, and crisp, with a greenish-yellow hue. The variety is triploid with infertile pollen and shows a tendency toward alternate bearing. The apple tree is winter hardy but has moderate susceptibility to a number of fungal diseases and high sensitivity to fire blight.
Harvesting takes place in September–October. The fruits store well until February or spring and are traditionally used for cooking, baking, drying, and cider production.
