The name haferapfel was traditionally used for various apple trees in European regions. In literature, it is often mentioned as an alternative name for the Weißer Klarapfel (Beliy Naliv) variety or attributed to the Prinzenapfel (Melonenapfel) variety. In Slovenia, this variety is included in the genetic resources register as part of the local pomological heritage, preserved at the Sadjarski center Maribor.

Due to the lack of uniqueness, a single plant description does not exist. Depending on the identification of a specific specimen, the ripening period may correspond to a summer or autumn type. The fruits are characterized by a melon-like flavor and the presence of grains in the flesh. Traditional forms hidden under this name are considered winter hardy and adapted to local gardening conditions.
