The variety is a hybrid of Fuji and Tsugaru varieties and is a triploid (3n) with the S-genotype S₁S₃S₉. Under Hokkaido conditions, it is classified as a mid-season variety with a harvest period in October.

The fruits are intended for dessert use and are characterized by a tart taste. The variety shows moderate resistance to fire blight and is included in studies on resistance to Alternaria blotch of apple.
