Oberländer Himbeerapfel is a winter variety; fruits are medium or large in size, conical in shape, with greenish-yellow skin and a dark purple blush. The flesh is yellowish-white, moderately juicy, with spicy notes. The tree is moderately vigorous, forms a large sparse crown; the variety is hardy and suitable for harsh climates.

Himbeerapfel von Holowaus is an autumn variety; fruits are high-round, with pronounced ribs, light yellow with red stripes. The flesh is white, juicy, with a pink tinge under the skin and an aroma of raspberries and roses. The tree is of medium vigor, characterized by high wind resistance and late flowering, which protects against spring frosts.

Both varieties are intended primarily for fresh consumption and are also suitable for processing into juices and must. The plants are considered robust and healthy and are often grown as traditional standard trees in home gardens.
